Accurate Future Headlines

I didn’t grow up believing in Jesus Christ or even imagining what a real relationship with God could look like. The religion that I was introduced to as a child left me with more questions than answers, and nothing seemed to add up to what I thought a life with the Creator should look like.

But then something changed and got my attention when I heard preaching from the preacher at First Church Charlotte, who compelled everyone listening to read the Bible for themselves, and not to simply take someone else’s word for what it says.

I took it upon myself to read it for myself.

What grabbed my attention about the Bible are the astonishingly precise “Future Headlines”—prophecies written thousands of years ago that unfolded exactly as history recorded.

Take Daniel 7, for example. It speaks of a lion with eagle’s wings. The wings were plucked off, and the creature is made to stand like a man. The lion has always represented Great Britain. The eagle, the United States. In 1776, after the Revolutionary War, America—the eagle—was separated from the lion and stood on its own as Uncle Sam.

The accuracy is undeniable.

The same passage describes a bear, the symbol that still points to Russia today.

It also mentions a four-headed leopard—imagery that aligns with Germany, out of which rose the Third Reich in World War II.

How could a book written thousands of years earlier so clearly capture events that shaped our modern world? These “headlines” are not guesses—they are evidence of a God who sees the end from the beginning.

And the most important headline of all?

The Bible declares the coming second return of Jesus Christ—an event so powerful that it will shake every nation and alter history forever. The question isn’t if this headline will happen. It’s whether we will be ready when it does. Have you been born again as the Bible instructs and explains?
